Eligibility

To be eligible for Second Career, individual must:


More Than 26 weeks of active job search, with documentation
17 to 26 weeks of active job search, with documentation
Less than 17 weeks of active job search, with documentation

More Than 52 weeks unemployed
Between 27 and 52 weeks unemployed
Less than 27 weeks unemployed

High School competition or less; or post secondary credentials not recognized in Ontario
High School Graduate with some post-secondary including apprenticeship
Post secondary completion or trade qualification

10 years or more in same/job occupation in an industry with declining or relatively low expected emplyment growth
5 to 10 years in same/job occupation in an industry with declining or relatively low expected emplyment growth
Less than 5 years in same/job occupation in an industry with declining or relatively low expected emplyment growth

Credential or licence needed for chosen employment
No Credential or licence needed for chosen employment

Leads to certificate or diploma occupationally-specific training in NOC B or C, best training delivery or cost option
Provides upgrading/language training to qualify for occupationally-specific training in NOC B or C that leads to certificate or diploma, best training delivery or cost option

Work experience in NOC D occupations, there are no current employment opportunities in those occupations, and/or a disability prevents the application form using existing occupational skills
Work experience in NOC B and/or NOC C occupations, there are no current employment opportunities in those occupations, and/or a disability prevents the applicant from using existing occupational skills
